Add a custom product in Jovvie Point of Sale

Use a custom product to sell something that is not in your product list, such as a one-off item or a service. You type the title and price right at the register.

Before you start

The Add button must be turned on for the station. If you do not see Add in the top bar, an administrator or shop manager needs to turn on Enable Add a Product Functionality in the station’s Products tab and make sure the Add button is not hidden. See Show or hide register buttons.
Sign in to the register. See Open the Jovvie Point of Sale register and sign in.

Add a custom product

In the top bar, tap Add.

On a large screen the bar opens in place. On a smaller screen a Custom Product screen opens.
In Title (or Product Title on the smaller screen), type a name for the item.
Tap Quantity. A keypad opens.
Enter how many you are selling on the keypad.
Tap the checkmark button on the keypad.
Tap Price. A keypad opens. The currency symbol shows in the label.
Enter the price for one item on the keypad.
Tap the checkmark button on the keypad.
If your station charges tax, set Tax Status:
- Taxable: tax is added to this item.
- None: no tax is added.
If Tax Status is Taxable, choose a Tax Class. Leave it on Standard rate for your standard rate.
Decide whether to keep the item. See Save the product for next time.
Tap the plus button (on the large screen) or Add (on the smaller screen).
If you saved the product, check its quantity in the cart. A saved product can be added with a quantity of 1, even if you entered more. To correct it, see Edit items in the cart.

The item appears in the cart. On the smaller screen, tap Close to leave without adding.

Save the product for next time

The Save checkbox (Save Product on the smaller screen) controls what happens to the item.

Turned off: the item exists only in this cart. It is not added to your catalog.
Turned on: Jovvie also creates a new product in your store with this title and price. It then appears in your product list for later sales and in your store’s Products list. Check the quantity in the cart after adding it.

An administrator or shop manager can choose whether this box starts turned on, using Enable Save by Default on the station.

If something goes wrong when saving, the register shows an error message and the item is not added. Try again, or turn off Save to add it to the cart only.

Change or remove the item

Edit the quantity or price, or remove the item, from the cart. See Edit items in the cart.
